Deity Sorceries
Book Excerpt

Many of you know I'm a big fan of Draja Mickaharic as I have urged many of you to go out and buy his booklets from Xlibris as well as his more mainstream published works such as The Practice of Magic.

Here is a short excerpt from the latter mentioned book that I found interesting and may help many of you to seriously think about.

Chapter 6

Deific Magic

pp. 70-72

Before you decide that a quick conversion to a magico-religious practice will give you all of the power you could ever want, you should bear these facts in mind. Before considering such a conversion you should take time to examine yourself and investigate your motives. When you are sure that you want to make the conversion, you must look hard enough to find a group actively practicing in a way which will fit in with your idea of what such groups should be. No matter what you may have heard, every "family" of a magico-religious group is different, and actual practices are different as families are.

A magico-religious practice of a more familiar sort is found in the Roman Catholic practice of praying to the Saints. If you are a Roman-Catholic, you already have a good magico-religious practice which you may put to good use whenever you wish. You can obtain books of attributes of the Saints, and get a list of their feast days. Then all you have to do is pick out the Saints you decide you want to work with, based upon their attributions, or rulerships. Saint's names in your given name, or any particular Saint you feel close to, are good places to start.

I knew a young man whose first names were Michael Christopher. He was raised Catholic, but fell away from the church because he did not feel that there was any real power in the mass anymore. After sixteen years of Roman Catholic education, he was subconsciously firmly convinced of the value of the religion in his life, but consciously he wanted to develop himself by becoming a magician. He was interested in Santeria, and he had a reading by a Santero, who told him that they would welcome him as an initiate.

However, he really was a Roman Catholic, and he eventually started doing daily devotions to his name Saints, Saint Michael and Saint Christopher, instead. Over the last few years he has been able to accomplish several good things in working with these Saints. As one example, after getting laid off from his job in a corporate downsizing, he was offered a better job in what he thought was his last elevator ride from the job he was leaving. He had prayed that if he was hit by the downsizing, he would be able to obtain employment immediately. St. Christopher made certain that he obtained even better employment than he previously had.

Comment: I found this passage to be extremely interesting from the standpoint that so many will hear of tales of great wonder and power about the ATR (African Traditional Religions) and then run off to seek initiation when they could be tapping into some seriously POWERFUL forces that are lying dormant in the religious upbringing of their youth.

Of course Draja uses the example of Roman Catholicism which is in a very real way a complete system of Spiritual practices that will get you what you ask for. There are also some Protestant faiths that can accomplish such Sorcerous desires as well such as the Pentacostal faith which uses invocation of Speaking in Tongues, Laying on of Hands, and all of the music and jumping around to arouse the energy within.

Obviously there are other Xian and non-Xian faiths that you can tap into. The idea here is to not completely abandon your childhood upbringing regarding religion. Rather simply use it to help you move thru blockages and accomplish those desires you really want.

It's something to consider.

All the Best,
Moloch
